Design, e-commerce and sustainable development to feature in fringe programme at Intertextile
The three-day physical fair, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition (9 – 11 October 2021) will continue to deliver an extensive range of high quality fringe programme events in four topics: Design Inspiration, Business O2O, Textiles & Technologies and Industry Empowerment, providing the industry with the latest trends and insights. Each topic will have a unique mix of conferences, seminars and presentations that reflect the future of the home textile industry. For visitors who cannot travel to China, they can participate in the fair online at our Online Business Matching (OBM) platform, to find and connect with their potential business partners from all over the world.
Design Inspiration – creative ideas from around the world
This year, selected outstanding young local designers from six cities across China will present their talent in interior design by using different upholstery and home furnishing products in the New Voices of Top Youth Upholstery Designers – Intertextile Upholstery Design and City Roving Exhibition. Furthermore, leading international designers will gather together and share their insights of textiles via Design talk and seminars during the show period. The spirit of 2022 China home textile trends will also be demonstrated throughout the three-day fair in a series of events.
Business O2O – cross-border and innovative e-commerce seminars
The pandemic shifts consumer shopping online. It accelerates an expansion of e-commerce which has become a new driving force behind the trade. Intertextile forum will include a series of seminars that will be led by renowned e-commerce experts, on the topics of different types of e-commerce business models – from traditional, cross-border to innovative new ones, providing one-stop solutions from business consulting to supporting services for home textile enterprises.
Textiles & Technologies – sustainable development in the textile industry
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges and far-reaching effects to the global textile industry. How textiles can sustainably reshape human life and living environment is becoming one of the most important directions for the development of the textile industry. Intertextile will invite industry pioneers to further discuss the topic of sustainable development in the textile industry.
Industry Empowerment – antimicrobial technologies and licensing in home textile sector
Growing awareness of health and hygiene has increased the demand for bioactive textiles. Seminars hosted by the Chinese Industry Association for Antimicrobial Materials & Products will further discuss about the increasing prominence of antimicrobial textiles, as well as how the adoption of new antimicrobial textile technologies is expected to evolve in the future in the fair. In addition, experts will share the new trends of licensing and IP with case studies for the furniture companies and fabric brands.
To accommodate buyers who cannot come to Shanghai due to travel restrictions, Intertextile will be launching an Online Business Matching (OBM) platform, which is dedicated to connecting suppliers and buyers across the world. With this free service, participants will be able to identify and connect with potential business partners based on their preferences and interests.
