Fringe programme highlights at Intertextile
Fairgoers can discover the latest home textile trends and insights at the upcoming three-day physical fair, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition (9 – 11 October 2021). High quality fringe programme events including conferences, seminars and displays will be provided in four topics: Design Inspiration, Business O2O, Textiles & Technologies and Industry Empowerment. Visitors who cannot travel to China can join the fair online at our Online Business Matching (OBM) platform, to find and connect with their potential partners from all over the world.
This year, four experts including renowned international & Chinese architectural and interior designers, as well as the professor and chief creative of the Design Innovation Institute, will gather at Intertextile Design Talk, which provides you with a glimpse of the new design trends in the post pandemic era around design tendencies, architectural space, product aesthetics and colour management.
Design Inspiration – New Voices of Top Youth Upholstery Designers
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles and East Vally are collaborating to launch the first national city-based upholstery design project for young upholstery designers in China. Young upholstery designers or teams selected by designer associations and institutions in six cities – Chengdu, Fuzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Suzhou and Wenzhou – will create and design new window display spaces by using home furnishing and contract business products , in order to express their understandings and attitudes toward the coming home textile trends by the new generation Chinese designers. While unearthing talented youth designers, the project also helps young Chinese designers to go global with their creativity.
Textiles & Technologies – How Sustainable Fashion is Reshaping Lifestyles
In the post-epidemic era, sustainable development has become an important issue of global concern. How textiles and fashion can sustainably reshape human life and living environment is becoming one of the important directions for the development of the textile industry.
As important leaders in the textile industry, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles collaborates with Donghua University to promote sustainable development in the textile industry. Based on the seminar, we hope more companies, brands, designers, research institutions, colleges and universities, media and consumers, could seize new opportunities and explore new areas which could enhance the cooperation and exchange between China and Central and Eastern European countries in textile and fashion fields, and jointly facilitate the sustainable development of the textile industry.

Business O2O – Cross-border and innovative e-commerce seminars
The pandemic has shifted more consumer shopping online, accelerating an expansion of e-commerce which has become a new driving force behind global trade. This edition, joining forces with renowned e-commerce companies, platform service providers and payment service providers, the fair will host a series of seminars discussing the solutions and strategies for business digitalisation, to provide enterprises with relevant experience and ideas on cross-border e-commerce.
Industry Empowerment – Seminar on Antibacterial Technology and its Application in the Textile Industry – the New Materials Revolution Under “Big Health”
Well-known professionals and companies in the industry are invited to share and discuss antibacterial, antiviral and anti-mite technologies, and their applications, performance and evaluation in the textile industry. The seminar aims to promote the use of antibacterial-related technologies in the textile industry, increase the added value of textiles, and provide market-oriented solutions for textile industry transformation in the context of “big health”.
