Trade under RCEP is proving key to the Chinese market’s continued growth – eventually, over 94% of imported and exported textiles between China and other member nations will be subject to zero tariffs.

The country is both the world’s biggest textile consumer and exporter, and experienced unanticipated growth in the first half of 2022. From January to June, China’s cumulative export of textiles and clothing was USD 156.49 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%.

On the retail side, clothing and consumer goods consumption in China has begun to rebound – in June, total absolute consumption was over USD 17.9 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 1.2%. Grab hold of growing Chinese market opportunities at next year’s spring fair!

“We’ve been participating at this fair for over 20 years. The fair can help us explore industry trends and hot topics, which is one of the reasons why we continue to participate.”
Ms Hong Cui, Director of Sales, Vitale Barberis Canonico SpA

“Celeli has joined Intertextile for many years because it is a large-scale, professional exhibition with a good reputation. The fair is an important channel to discover new customers and since the pandemic, it has brought the industry together to create more opportunities for business exchange. In the future, I think the domestic demand for imported fabrics will continue to grow and that Asian markets, especially China’s, have huge potential.”
Ms Leanne Li, Operations Manager, Celeli (Shanghai) Trading Co Ltd, China, Agent of Lanificio Di Pray SpA
