China and the world focus on sustainable fashion
The world is paying more and more attention to sustainability, especially within the fashion industry as companies and consumers seek eco-friendly products and solutions. According to a study published by the R.I.S.E. Sustainable Fashion Lab in October 2020 around 85% of consumers surveyed said they will not purchase from brands with a negative environmental image, demonstrating the clear changing commitments among Chinese consumers. Follow the movement and source for sustainable products this October at Intertextile Apparel!

Yagi & Company (HK) Ltd, Hong Kong (Booth: 2.1-C23) Looking to develop an environmentally friendly raw material, Yagi released a recycled yarn product named Recycolor. Cut waste and scraps of material generated during the apparel-production process are collected, sorted by colour and the recovered fibres reborn as yarn. Recycolor enables many different colours of cotton fabrics to be recycled. Moreover, both water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced because no dyeing process is required.
Esquel Enterprises Limited, Hong Kong (Booth: 1.1-J52) Organic, recycled and top-dyed are the three core elements that create the sustainable quality of Esquel top-dyed yarn.
Organic cotton is grown using non-genetically engineered seed in a sustainable farming setting and recycled cotton is produced using residue and fabric clippings. By collecting and transforming waste to reduce the consumption of raw materials, they are devoted to reducing, reusing and recycling.
