What does the 14th FYP mean to the global automotive industry?
The 14th FYP from 2021 to 2025 provides an outline for China's socio-economic development. The plan highlights a number of sectors, one being the automotive industry, that have strong opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of the country's future.  It champions the implementation of new business models, sustainable solutions, and technological advancements. Industry players can also take advantage of China’s extensive consumer base and export activities.

What are the key trends and opportunities ahead?

· China’s economy is expected to sustain an average growth of 4% over the next five years, reinforced by its robust domestic consumer base.

· The country will continue to build a stable and self-sufficient supply chain that accommodates its domestic market and export activities. This includes auto parts, car systems, electronics, and more for both the passenger and commercial segments.

· The automotive industry is also entering a critical period of transformation and upgrade. There will be a rapid development of intelligent and connected vehicles expedited through the support of government policies and improvements to infrastructure.

· New energy vehicle market shares will increase significantly across the nation, with sales accounting for 20% of new car purchases by 2025.
