Germany remains one of Vietnam’s top EU trade partners, with bilateral trade exceeding EUR 10 billion in 2024, driven by machinery, chemicals, and technical textiles.

In 2024, Vietnam imported around EUR 30.9 billion worth of chemical raw materials and products – about 10% of its total imports – with continued double-digit growth, reflecting strong demand for high-quality auxiliaries and finishing agents.

Vietnam’s textile exports climbed 11.2% to reach EUR 31.6 billion in 2024, with strong growth in home textiles, functional apparel, outdoor gear, and fashion fabrics.

The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) continues to reduce tariffs and streamline standards, enhancing competitiveness for German textile machinery and chemical exports.
